Characterized by stripped productions based on acoustic guitars and meaningful words, Plàsi is now out with his debut album People. After a gradual release of the individual tracks during 2017/2018 the album is now finally in one piece, followed by his first tour across six European countries. The inspiration comes from related acts within the acoustic folk genre, such as Passenger, José González, Sufjan Stevens, and Kings of Convenience
Plàsi, originally Mikael Bitzarakis, was born on the island of Crete with a Greek father but mainly raised in Sweden with his mother where he moved by the age of four. He writes and produces his music himself, and has studied songwriting at the music school Rytmus in Stockholm. After further studies in Stockholm, Milan, and Vienna his songwriting ignited under his new stage name.
The first single, Who Are We, got released in April 2016 and got supported by various music blogs before it started spreading on Spotify. In November the same year, the debut EP Now & Then got out, whose lead track got remixed and supported on major playlists and channels. The name ‘Plàsi’ comes from the Ancient Greek word for creation (πλάση), which best describes his passion for songwriting and entrepreneurship.
